Architectural copper · soldered in-house · Clermont, FL

Copper, soldered right, lasts the life of the building.

Collector heads, leader heads, scuppers, flashing and accents — fabricated and soldered in our shop, not subbed out to whoever's free. The detail that makes the building, made by a shop that's still around to warranty it.

Architectural copper standing seam roof fabricated by Superb Metals

Superb Metals fabricates architectural copper in-house in Clermont/Minneola, Florida — soldered scuppers, collector and leader heads, copper flashing, coping and accent details — for architects, GCs and high-end roofing contractors across the Orlando metro. Copper is solderable, lasts 50-plus years, and patinas instead of corroding. We solder the joints in the shop, so the watershed is permanent.

The Superb advantage

Copper punishes a shop that doesn't solder. We solder.

  • Found a fabricator who'll bend copper but pop-rivets and caulks the joints — on a copper roof that's supposed to outlast me.

We solder copper joints in the shop with a proper seam. On a 50-year metal, the joint should last 50 years too — soldered, not riveted and sealed.

    Shop-soldered seams

  • The architect specced copper collector heads and nobody local will touch them. Now the GC's chasing an out-of-state shop with a six-week lead.

We fabricate copper collector and leader heads here in Central Florida. The detail you specced gets made locally, on a date you can plan around — not freighted from three states away.

    Made locally · committed date

  • We're betting six figures of copper on a shop we've never used and can't see the work before it ships.

Pick it up at will-call and inspect the soldered seam before it leaves Minneola. A named contact, a real shop, and the metal in your hands before it goes on the truck.

Capability

Soldered seams, not sealed seams

The whole point of copper is permanence — it patinas, it doesn't rust, and a well-soldered copper detail is watertight for the life of the roof. So we solder it.

Scuppers, collector heads, flashing transitions — the joints get a real solder seam in the shop, where we can control the heat and the flux and check the watershed before it ships. Caulk is for the joints that move. The rest get soldered.

  • Shop-soldered copper joints — permanent watershed
  • Heat and flux controlled in the shop, not the jobsite
  • Watertight seams checked before the piece leaves

What we fabricate in copper

If it can be cut and formed from sheet copper, we fabricate it. The pieces architects and GCs come to us for most: collector heads and leader heads for the downspout transition, soldered copper scuppers, copper coping and edge metal, chimney caps, kickouts, and copper accents and flashing.

Need a one-off detail drawn on the plans? Send it. We make the piece that isn't in anyone's catalog.

  • Collector & leader heads (the downspout statement piece)
  • Soldered copper scuppers and scupper boxes
  • Copper coping, edge metal and chimney caps
  • Copper flashing, kickouts and accent details
  • Custom one-off pieces from your detail or drawing

Why copper

Why copper, in Florida

Copper outlives almost everything else on the building — 50 years and well beyond — and it does it without a paint finish to fade or chalk.

In Florida's sun and salt air, that matters: copper patinas to a stable brown-then-green and protects itself, instead of corroding like uncoated steel. It costs more up front, which is exactly why the shop you pick has to get the fabrication and the solder right the first time.

  • 50-plus year service life, no paint finish to fade
  • Patinas and self-protects — no rust, no chalk
  • The architectural metal for statement roofs and details

FAQ

Copper fabrication questions

  • Does Superb Metals fabricate copper?

Yes. We fabricate architectural copper in-house in Clermont/Minneola, Florida — soldered scuppers, collector and leader heads, copper coping, edge metal, chimney caps and custom flashing — for architects, GCs and roofing contractors across Lake, Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Polk counties. Send your detail and we'll quote it.

  • Do you solder copper joints?

Yes. We solder copper seams in the shop with a proper watertight joint, then check the watershed before the piece ships. On a metal that lasts 50-plus years, the joint should too — so we solder it rather than rivet and caulk it. Soldered seams are a permanent watershed.

  • What copper pieces can you make?

Collector heads, leader heads, soldered scuppers and scupper boxes, copper coping and edge metal, chimney caps, kickouts, flashing and accent details — plus one-off custom pieces from your drawing. If it can be cut and formed from sheet copper, we fabricate it in-house in Central Florida.

  • How long does copper last in Florida?

Copper lasts 50-plus years and well beyond, with no paint finish to fade or chalk in Florida sun. It patinas to a stable brown-then-green and self-protects instead of rusting like uncoated steel. That longevity is why getting the fabrication and soldering right the first time matters.

  • Can I match copper accents to the rest of my roof?

Yes. We fabricate copper alongside your panels, trim and other details so the whole job comes from one shop on one schedule. Order your copper collector heads or scuppers with the rest of the package and there's a single date to track — not an out-of-state copper sub on a separate lead time.
